Job description
Level 1 Technical Support
1. Initial Level 1 support for the shipboard users in regards to the Shore side computing environment.
2. Hands on troubleshooting of equipment.
3. Logging all problems that the Systems Manager is unable to resolve, they will be logged in a “Outstanding Problems and Requests Log”. This log will be reviewed with the Corporate Systems Manager as well as the new Systems Manager during turnover.
4. Logging all maintenance performed on printers, PCs and other hardware equipment.
5. Advising General Manager and Chief Purser of all pending and up to date issues regarding the onboard computer systems, issues or requests;
6. Determine if user requests are a problem, training issue or a new enhancement and will coordinate such request with the Corporate Systems Manager;
7. Provide user technical support or interpretation of documentation for custom applications;
8. Assist in the deployment and testing of projects or enhancement from Corporate.
9. Responsible for advising Corporate of any shipboard changes that might effect the operation of the Hotel System;
Operations and Applications
1. Preventive maintenance of equipment in the form of cleaning and/or testing to preserve equipment;
2. Recovering systems, file or programs when required;
3. Validation of data flow and transmission;
4. Maintenance and operation of business critical applications including: TESA Card System, Fidelio, Micros and Wireless Check in;
5. Provide support for regular Hotel operations; troubleshoot problems or coordinate solution with Corporate and/or Chief Purser should the users experience problems when performing any day-to-day processes. To evaluate the urgency of any problem and act accordingly;
6. Understand the operation of the equipment that falls under the Shipboard Systems realm and hotel or business operations
7. Assists the Computer Instructor/Teacher in making sure that the Computer Systems required for Guest Check-in process during embarkation are set up appropriately as required onboard/shore side;
