Job description
1. Assists the Dining Room Manager in directing, supervising and training of all subordinates in the performance of their duties in accordance with quality standards set by the company for courteous service in the restaurant organization. Follows training procedures as set by Dining Room Steward Training Manual.
2. Responsible for the implementation and execution of food handling, food service and cleaning procedures in accordance with USPH standards.
3. Responsible for the preparation and implementation of all table reservations and seating assignments with final approval by Dining Room Manager.
4. Assists the Dining Room Manager in the preparation of objective performance evaluation report for petty officers and other employees in the restaurant organization.
5. Responsible for the performance, personal conduct, dress and grooming of all subordinates and reports on these subjects objectively and timely to the Dining Room Manager.
6. Executes a correct and fair assignment of passenger dining room seating for each steward.
7. Implements and executes proper maintenance and cleaning procedures in all restaurant areas in order to ensure good appearance and condition of these areas.
8. Assists in the preparation of reports as required or requested by the Dining Room Manager.
9. Reports any malfunctioning equipment or furnishings in need of repair or refurbishing to the Dining Room Manager.
10. Maintains a high level of productivity and service from all assigned employees.
11. Assists in the control of the actual hours worked and the proper recording and reporting of these.
12. Assists in the preparation of work schedules for all employees in the restaurant organization.
13. Works closely and cooperates with superiors, colleagues and other employees in order to achieve the highest possible passenger satisfaction from the services rendered.
14. Is responsible for providing management to the Lido. Through visible management ensures that passenger satisfaction is met as it relates to service o this area
15. Becomes completely familiar with the USPH manual and Marine Hotel Operations manual and assists Maitre D' in the implementation and ongoing assessment of each manual.
16. Does daily inspections of all aspects of area of responsibility and as directed by Dining Room Manager in order to identify deficiencies and assess procedures of personnel.
17. Prepares himself for daily meeting with Dining Room Manager and other dining room staff in order to provide input and address current operational concerns.
18. Responsible for ensuring all clean china, glassware and silverware are handled according to both HAL and USPH procedures.
19. Adhere to all Marine Hotel Directives.
