Job description
As we continue to grow our amazing fleet of ships, we are looking for talented professionals looking to grow with us.
All duties and responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with Royal Caribbean International’s Gold Anchor Standards, SQM standards, USPH guidelines, environmental, and workplace safety policies and procedures. Each shipboard employee may be required to perform all functions in various food and beverage service venues throughout the ship.
Each shipboard employee may be required to perform all functions in various food service venues and galleys throughout the ship. The work stations or areas are usually categorized as follows: roast, fish, butcher, vegetable, breakfast, solarium, sauce, soup, bakery, buffet, pastry, pantry, Windjammer, room service, special requests, employee galley. Voyager, Radiance and Freedom class ships include additional venues such as Jade, Café Promenade, Latte-tudes, Chops Grille, Portofino, Seaview, Johnny RocketsTM and the commissary.
Hiring Requirements:
Minimum one year cook experience in a 4 or 5 star hotel, restaurant or high volume food service facility.
Ability to demonstrate basic cooking methods such as braise, sauté, broil and grill and the use of a variety of knifes to slice, dice, chop, julienne, etc.
bility to identify common kitchen equipment such as grinders, deep fryers, ovens, Bain Marie, mixers, etc.
Familiar with basic food sanitation standards.
Ability to follow detailed directions, instructions and recipes.
Completion of high school or basic equivalency preferred.
