POSITION SUMMARY


Greets and assists guests with specialty dining reservations, including seating guests and other service related activities in an effort to ensure a treasured experience for every guest.



GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



1. Serves as an ambassador of Celebrity Cruises and the four specialty restaurants; assisting guests with specialty restaurant reservations and other specialty restaurant related requests.

2. During hours of operations, assists in controlling the traffic flow of the specialty restaurants, including hosting & entertaining waiting guests and escorting guests to various specialty restaurants for seating.

3. Maintains a knowledgeable, professional image as a brand ambassador of all food and beverage offerings with a particular emphasis on the specialty restaurants’ menus, beverages and service offerings.

4. Takes a lead in driving specialty restaurant bookings to meet or exceed sales targets. Assists in managing ASR inventory in partnership.

5. Attends all trainings required by Specialty Dining Manager to improve and update his/her knowledge.

6. Conducts professional presentation as needed, in front of an audience of guests, travel agents regarding the different food outlets.

7. Assists with any special guest or group requests, including coordinating all details with the restaurant staff and maitre’ds.

8. To be able to take care of any request from the Guests and to communicate the request to the Maitre D’ and Chef of each location.

9. Notifies the Specialty Dining Manager of any demanding guests and assists with resolving any service related concerns.

10. Has Basic knowledge of wines and whenever necessary assists the guest for any question or requirements.

11. Provides basic administrative support to specialty restaurant management, including entering time cards to Kronos for all specialty restaurant crew, assisting with publishing schedules and other related activities.

12. Performs related duties as required. This position description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the shipboard employee occupying this position. Shipboard employees will be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor or management.



Hiring Requirements:


* Minimum 2 years experience in Hotel Industry, cruise line or travel/hospitality company.An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

* Ability to speak English and additionally either Spanish, French or German clearly, distinctly and cordially with guests and employees (will be able to conduct a professional presentation of the restaurants for promotion with groups up to 25 guests). Tri-lingual skills preferred.

* Individual must have excellent communication and organizational skills.

* Superior organizational and problem solving skills.

* Computer skills with associated software, Microsoft Office applications and email required.

* Minimum high school or equivalent degree is mandatory. College or University degree is preferred.

* Must meet all physical requirements, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

* All international applicants must have the ability to obtain a C1/D1 Visa.

* Applicants must be able to accommodate a months on 6 / 2 months off contract schedule.

Job description:

• Ensures the cleaning of the bakery shop as per the Executive Chef’s schedule, exercising proper methods to minimize equipment damages.

• Ensures that the pantry shops are ready for any announced or unannounced USPH inspections done either by the ship’s management or USPH inspectors.

• Responsible for the requisition and transportation of the necessary items from the main stores to the bakery shop.

• Ensures recipes/master list and yields are in accordance with the company’s standards.

• Completes the daily consumption re-cap as required by the Executive Chef.

• Ensures that bakery personnel come to work on time, and are in proper, well-maintained uniforms, with special attention to those working in public areas. Personal appearance and hygiene must be according to company policy.

• Has a thorough understanding of Time and Attendance procedures, and is familiar with the contracts and work schedule hours/week and supporting documentation.

• Is aware of, and/or acquires the necessary knowledge to comply with the ship’s standard operation, in order to assist guests and CFMs with inquiries.

• Attends meetings, training activities, courses and all other work-related activities as required.

• Accountable for daily production recap.

• Accountable to coach and train the Cook Baker.

Job requirements:


• Minimum of two years experience as a Head Baker in an upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship or convention banqueting service (shipboard experience preferred).

• Culinary school degree required.

• Very strong communication, problem solving, decision making, and interpersonal skills.
• Superior customer service, teambuilding and conflict resolution skills.

• Knowledge of the principles and processes for providing personalized services including needs assessment techniques, quality service standards, alternative delivery systems, and guest satisfaction evaluation techniques.

• Strong planning, coaching, organizing, staffing, controlling, and evaluating skills.

• Intermediate computer software skills required.

IBM computer systems with HPDesignJet 5000PS wide-bed printers, drafting tablets & graphics applications. Computer networks and related equipment.


Strong computer skills, proficient in Adobe PhotoShop, Illustrator, Freehand or similar types of Programs. Digital cameras (professional grade) Studio lighting, state of the art Digital Photo Lab equipment operation and maintenance. Graphic design and sales experience are considered a plus.


Prefer at least a two year college certificate in Photography and/or related field.

Two years of experience in 35mm color photography and digital photography, including all aspects of shooting, developing and processing, preferably on a mini-lab. Weddings, Events & People Photography experience a plus. Strong customer service and communication skills are required. Prior employment in a high volume Mini-Lab and sales environment is a plus. Must have strong computer skills.
